Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra phone camera surprise? May come with a 10-megapixel telephoto lens

Launched in the global market earlier this year, the Samsung Galaxy S22 flagship series has been a hit among smartphone enthusiasts around the world. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, the top-end model of the lineup in particular, is the first S-series device to come with S Pen support, bringing back the nostalgia of the discontinued Galaxy Note series. However, amid this frenzy about the S22, various information about the successor Galaxy S23 series devices has also started to come out. This upcoming series is expected to launch in the first quarter of next year.

A report last month suggested that the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ models will come with the same telephoto camera used in the Galaxy S22 lineup. And now a new report has revealed details of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra's telephoto camera.

Will the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra come with the same telephoto lens as its predecessor?

According to a recent report by Galaxy Club (GalaxyClub.nl), the new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom. The report is believed to be talking about the phone's Periscope telephoto camera. It can be assumed that the Galaxy S23 phone will have the same periscope zoom camera, which is already used in the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the latest Galaxy S22 Ultra.

However, there is no reason to despair, as some previous reports have suggested that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be Samsung's first smartphone to come with a 200-megapixel ISOCell HP3 sensor. However, it is believed that the S23 Ultra will feature a 40-megapixel front-facing camera, as seen on its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The standard S23 and S23 Plus are said to include a 12-megapixel selfie camera.

Also, no information has surfaced yet about the Galaxy S23 Ultra's ultra-wide lens and second telephoto camera. All three devices in this series will be powered by the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. A recent report revealed that the company, like other times, will not be unveiling any Exynos chipset variants for the upcoming S23 lineup of models.

Note that the South Korean company is currently focusing on their next Galaxy Unpacked (Galaxy Unpacked 2022) event, which will be held on August 10. The screen is expected to be removed from the top of several premium Samsung devices such as Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5 series and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro at this event
