After unveiling its Asus ROG Phone 6 gaming smartphone series earlier this month, Taiwanese electronic gadget maker Asus has launched the new Asus Zenfone 9 handset in the global market. This phone has Super AMOLED display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The Zenfone 9 also offers 16GB of RAM, a 50-megapixel dual camera setup and a 4,300mAh battery. 


Let's take a look at the price, design and all the specifications of this new Asus handset.

Asus Zenfone 9 Price and Availability

The company has confirmed that the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model of the Asus ZenFone 9 will be available at a price of 799 Euros (approx. Rs. 64,650). However, the company is yet to confirm when the smartphone will be available in the global market along with the price of its other variants. However, it is known that the handset will be available in four color options - Black, White, Blue and Red.

Asus Zenfone 9 Design

Asus Zenfone 9 clearly shows the design impression of Apple (Apple) and Huawei (Huawei) smartphones. It has a metal frame and two large rings on the rear panel, in which the cameras are located. The smartphone has a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top and features a flat back and flat edges. The bottom of the device features a speaker grill, a USB Type-C port, a primary microphone hole and a SIM card slot. Again, the right side of the Zenfone 9 has a volume rocker and a power button with an integrated fingerprint sensor.

The top left corner of the display panel has a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and thin bezels can be seen on either side.

For enhanced performance, the Asus Zenfone 9 is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, built on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC) 4nm node. The chipset is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

For photography, the dual camera setup on the back panel of the Asus Zenfone 9 includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, which supports 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). The primary sensor is paired with a 2-megapixel Sony IMX363 ultra-wide sensor with a 113-degree field-of-view as a secondary camera. The ultrawide camera also works as a macro camera. And for selfies and video calls, the phone has a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 selfie camera on the front, with snappy autofocus. The main camera can record 8K video at 24 frames per second rate with EIS and 4K video at 60 frames per second rate with EIS. Besides, the 12-megapixel front-facing camera has dual PDEF,

Besides, the Asus Zenfone 9 device has an attractive touchpad around the power button, which can be used for various purposes including opening the notification drawer, app shortcuts, camera and media controls. The device also features a sensor on the rear panel, through which users can tap on the back to open the camera, flashlight, sound recorder, Google Assistant and control media. Zenphone 9 is customized with ZenUI for single use with smart gestures for app drawer shortcuts, camera settings and several other features.

For ultimate power backup, the Asus Zenfone 9 packs a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. The company says that this battery can be charged from zero to 50 percent in 30 minutes. The handset offers a pair of powerful stereo speakers, which are claimed to be on par with the latest flagship devices. Finally, the Asus Zenfone 9 is rated IP68 dust and water resistant.
