Motorola recently announced that it is working on a 200-megapixel camera smartphone, which is likely to make its debut in July. But before the official launch of the company's latest flagship phone, the general manager of Lenovo's mobile phone business development teased the handset's camera performance information online. Incidentally, rumors are circulating that this premium category device, soon to come with the Motorola branding, may come with the codename "Frontier".
In addition, according to earlier reports, the smartphone is expected to have a Snapdragon 6 + Gen1 processor and a 125-watt fast charging supported adapter teased by the company.
Motorola teases camera performance of upcoming flagship smartphone before launch
Shen Jin, general manager of Lenovo's phone business development division, shared a post on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo yesterday, saying, "The pictures on the new phone took me by surprise." At the same time, it has been observed that almost every one of Shane's recent posts has been shared from a device called "Motorola Phone". However, he praised the camera performance of the smartphone from which Shane clicked the picture, but did not share any photo samples. Lenovo officials have not confirmed whether the handset mentioned in the post is a smartphone with Motorola's upcoming 200-megapixel sensor.
Last May, Motorola teased that the flagship smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera would be launched in July. The company also said that the upcoming smartphone will use the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor announced in 2021. Note that this sensor supports 12.5-megapixel image capturing with 16x pixel binning using a 200-megapixel sensor.
The company, which is affiliated with Lenovo, has not yet released the other specifications of its upcoming flagship smartphone. However, there are rumors that the upcoming 200-megapixel camera handset may come with the codename "Frontier". Earlier, multiple reports claimed that the upcoming smartphone will have a 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. In addition to the main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens may be present in the rear camera unit. Incidentally, a live image of the phone in question was shared on Weibo last March, where Motorola teased that a new 125-watt charger would be launched alongside the upcoming handset.
